The probability of a snowy weekend continues to look promising.

But, as always, it's location, location, location.

The latest accumulation forecast calls for folks in the Treasure Valley to see anywhere from one to four inches of snow by early Sunday evening. The National Weather Service has called for a Winter Weather Advisory beginning Saturday night at 11 p.m. through Sunday at 5 p.m. Locations such as Idaho City and Weiser, however, could see upward of 10 inches of snow.

The big winners could be Council, McCall, Fairfield, and Hailey, with estimates of up to 14 inches of snow. All those locations are under either a Winter Weather Advisory or Winter Storm Warning.

The National Weather Service is warning drivers to expect winter weather driving conditions across the region. Safety measures should be taken if you plan to hit the road.

With the possibility of heavy snow over the weekend, be prepared for increased avalanche danger in the backcountry.

The NWS also says snow amounts in the Treasure and Magic Valleys could be highly variable -- with some places seeing a few inches while others will see less.
