Warmer weekend with a few showers
Like waves coming onto a beach, we’ll see occasional showers moving into the Treasure Valley. Overall, we’ll see a mixture of clouds and sunshine. Both Saturday and Sunday. Highs Saturday will reach the mid 60’s. By Sunday, highs will reach 70 degrees. That’s about 10 degrees warmer than normal.
An area of low pressure will slowly move toward southwest Idaho. Look for a mixture of clouds with some sunshine. The best chance for showers will occur early Saturday and again late Sunday. As the low moves closer to Idaho on Sunday, we’ll see an increasing flow out of the southwest. Due to its origin, this will bring warmer temperatures through the day Sunday. Then, the atmosphere will begin to moisten up by Sunday evening. This is when the second wave of moisture will move in.
The actual low pressure will move into the state on Monday. That’s when the chilly air arrives. It could bring a little rain/snow mix to the valley along with highs in the 40’s. Also, the models are indicating that we could see gusty winds Monday behind the front. This will make for a chilly back to work forecast.
