The cool down is temporary
A slow moving low is still headed toward Idaho. You can feel the influence of the low as temperatures have gradually been cooling off. Today’s high was 69 degrees. Friday we’ll only hit 63 degrees. This is actually cooler than normal. But the low will also bring a few showers and isolated thunderstorms to the region. Here’s how everything will play out:
Friday – look for a mix of sun and clouds. Highs will be in the low 60’s. We’ll see a chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms especially in the afternoon and evening hours.
Saturday – The low will move into southeastern Idaho. The best chance for rain will occur in the southeastern part of the state and northern Utah. But, due to the proximity of the low to us, I can’t rule out at least a chance of a few showers.
Sunday – The low will weaken as it drifts into northern Utah. If this happens, drier air will begin to move in from the northwest. We should see partly cloudy skies on Mother’s Day with high temperatures near 70 degrees.
Next Week – Look for mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies with highs warming back up into the 70’s and low 80’s.
