Had enough? If not, we have a little more snow in your forecast
What an amazing weekend for snowfall totals around the region. The following are weekend totals: Bogus Basin 13”, Brundage 12”, Tamarack 16”, Garden Valley 13”, Eagle 5”. If you think that’s impressive, it great to see that Sun Valley was finally hammered by the weekend storms as they got a whopping 29”! It’s all great news for the snowpack. Which by the way, I believe will now go above average this week. Not only because of what we had, but because of what in on the way! Here’s what to expect:
MONDAY: Look for periods of snow especially in the morning. The Upper Treasure Valley will likely see the most with an additional 1-3”. The Lower Treasure Valley should see less. The timing could coincide with the morning commute so please check conditions in the morning to see how the roads are looking. The mountains could see another foot of snow by late night.
TUESDAY: We’ll be in between storms but still have lots of clouds around with highs in the upper 30’s. The mountains will still see some snow showers.
WEDNESDAY: The next big storm will drop in from the Gulf of Alaska. This storm has the potential to be a bit warmer so we’ll forecast a rain/snow mix for the Treasure Valley with heavy snow in the mountains. If the models hold true, this could be a very juicy storm for the mountains and ski resorts.
THURSDAY: We’ll finally see the start of a dry spell that could go through the weekend. But, it’s way too early to be sure. Sometimes when the pattern gets really active like this, it has the potential to stay active. Regardless, all of a sudden it’s like Mother Nature wanted to remind us of the fact that this is winter. It’s been great. Hope you haven’t had to shovel too much. We’ll be watching.
