BOISE, Idaho (CBS 2 News) — The First Responder Bowl game between Boise State University and Boston College has been canceled following numerous weather delays for lightning Wednesday afternoon in Dallas.
The Idaho Press' B.J. Rains reports that the game will not be made up and will officially be recorded as a "no contest."
Boston College had a 7-0 lead in the first quarter when the game was first delayed.
BSU head coach Bryan Harsin sent out a tweet thanking fans and players for their support and effort.
Rains also recorded an interview with Boise State Athletic Director Curt Apsey about what happened.
Boise State later announced that it would be issuing refunds for tickets bought through the school.
Boston College Athletic Director Martin Jarmond announced on Twitter after the game was canceled that fans who bought their tickets through the school will get a full refund and a free ticket to a Boston College home athletic event.
