Boise State women’s soccer using its hand(shakes) to win

Boise State women's soccer players and coaches each have unique handshakes with their teammates and fellow coaches.

You can’t use your hands in soccer, except for the goalie.

But Boise State’s women’s soccer team is using them – legally.

Every player and coach has a unique one with every other teammate and coach.

“You do it every training session and you do it every game so the first week is a little rough,” said head coach Jim Thomas.

It’s a team bonding exercise, and it must be paying off.

“Everyone is my best friend on this team,” said junior McKenna Kynett.

The Broncos are 13-3-2 and have clinched at least a share of the Mountain West regular season title.

Boise State can earn the outright title with a tie or win against Utah State on Friday at 4 p.m. at the Boas Soccer Complex.
