DAUPHIN ISLAND, Ala. (WPMI) — A large bundle containing several packages of suspected cocaine was found washed ashore on a beach in Alabama.
The Mobile County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) said the package was found on May 20 on Dauphin Island.
The bundle was discovered by walkers in the area of the west end beach and appeared to have been there for some time.
The Dauphin Island Police Department recovered the bundle, via ATV due to its location, and it was transported back to their office where it was turned over to MCSO Narcotics Detectives who also responded.
The suspected cocaine will be turned over to Homeland Security Investigations for further investigation in cooperation with MCSO.
