A woman and her dog were attacked near the Boise River Tuesday.

Boise Police says the woman was walking her dog near N. 13th Street and Shoreline at about 4:45 p.m. when she let her dog off the leash. The 18-month-old German Shephard ran down a path toward the river but did not return. BPD says the woman went to look for the dog and found a man holding her dog.

The man then attacked her. She was able to fight back and escape and then run home and call police.

The dog was unharmed.

The man is a white or Hispanic male in his 40’s or 50’s, about 5’6’’ and 150-160 pounds. He is described as being dirty but was wearing a new looking grey zip-up hooded sweatshirt. He had a long beard that was about 4-6 inches long and was white and dark grey in color. He is also described as having a wrinkled face and dirty wrinkled hands.

The victim was yelling “Rosey,” her dogs name, during the attack and was also running and crying as she made her way home.

Anyone with information about the incident or the suspect is asked to call 208-377-6790.
