A vigil for the victims of the recent Meridian murder-suicide is being held tonight at 7:30 p.m. at West Park near the Pond in Nampa.

Organizers say everyone in the community is welcome.

If you are planning to attend tonight and looking for a way to help, organizers say they will be collecting gifts as well anything the daughters may need.

A life-long friend of victim Heidi DeLeon organized the vigil. She says what happened to her friend and the rest of the family is a tragedy.

Police say, Heidi's ex husband Edward Epps jr forced his way into her and her husband Jose's home armed with two handguns. Epps shot and killed Heidi and Jose while three children were home.

A 13-year-old ran to a neighbors house for help while two other girls, ages 10 and 11 were held hostage at the home.

The two girls were eventually released and Epps jr took his own life.
