MERIDIAN, Idaho (CBS 2) — Meridian Police are asking the public's help in finding a woman who they say tried to kidnap her biological child from outside a Meridian church, Sunday morning.
According to police, Eden Hope Rodriguez, 27, of Seguin, Texas doesn't have custody of her 8-year-old child, but still tried to take the child away from their legal guardian, as they were leaving a service at the Holy Apostles Church in Meridian.
The child's guardian successfully held onto the child and was able to take shelter back in the church.
Rodriguez ran south through the church's parking lot.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic female, 5’03” tall and approximately 100lbs, with light brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a blue or grey long sleeve shirt, white pants and dark ankle boots.
Rodriguez is known to drive a lime green, 2014 Ford Fiesta with a Texas plate JTL1009.
Meridian Police added that they have reason to believe Rodriguez is armed with a concealed handgun, and she is known to be violent.
They advise the public not to approach the suspect and contact 9-1-1 or Ada County Dispatch at 208-377-6790.
