Student arrested for allegedly bringing BB gun to Marsing High School
MARSING, Idaho (KBOI) —
The Owyhee County Sheriff reports a student was arrested this afternoon at Marsing High School. The call came in just after 3 p.m. Wednesday afternoon saying a student was on campus with a weapon.
The high school was put on lockdown while deputies investigated. Deputies say they found the student and confiscated the weapon "without incident or injury."
Taken into custody was 18-year old Seth J. Ramirez. Ramirez is being held in the Owyhee County Jail.
The sheriff's office told the Associated Press that Ramirez brought a BB gun that looked like a realistic, fully functioning handgun.
The Marsing School District used an automated notification system to alert parents about the incident. No one was injured.
