NAMPA, Idaho (KBOI) — A sinkhole has formed on a busy stretch of Garrity Boulevard under Interstate-84 Friday morning after a water main break.
Nampa Police said on Twitter that the road there will be shut down, meaning drivers won't be able to access I-84 by going south on Idaho Center Boulevard. Officers have also blocked westbound traffic from turning left off of the Garrity off-ramp south onto Garrity Boulevard. The road will not be repaired this weekend.
The break occurred at about 3:40 a.m. Drivers are encouraged to find an alternative route.
Officials tell KBOI 2News that the valves in the area have been shut off and the break in the pipe should be repaired this weekend.
Northbound traffic is closed at Franklin Boulevard.
This is a developing story. Stay tuned for updates.
