Police: Meridian woman arrested after heroin, meth found in storage unit
BOISE, Idaho (CBS 2 News) —
Police say they have arrested a 26-year-old Meridian woman after they found heroin and methamphetamine in a storage unit that belongs to her.
Boise police and the Boise Area Narcotics Interdiction Team, or BANDIT, had been investigating illegal narcotics sales after receiving citizen tips before they obtained a search warrant for the storage unit Tuesday. The storage unit is located on the 400 block of Maple Grove Road.
Police say that they found over 15 grams of heroin in a plastic baggy that was being stored inside a makeup bag and locked in a safe in the unit. Officers say they also found another baggy with a small amount of methamphetamine in the safe.
BPD says they learned that the storage unit belonged to Vanessa Whalen, 26, of Meridian, and were able to arrest her following a traffic stop.
Whalen is being charged with felony drug trafficking in heroin and felony possession of a controlled substance, but police say more charges could be added.
