Police: Boise Bench package thief arrested, charged with 15 crimes

A 35-year-old woman was arrested Wednesday after police began searching for her in December for package theft on the Boise Bench.

Police arrested Jennifer Hays on burglary, drug and theft charges.

Boise and Meridian Police officers found Hays in the area of Ten Mile and McMillan and she was taken into custody during a traffic stop.

Police say a K9 alerted on the car and a search revealed drug paraphernalia.

Officers also found two large sets of bolt cutters and other evidence linking the Hays to recent burglaries.

According to police, the boxes had been stolen from multiple homes on the Boise bench.

Hays is facing multiple charges of felony two burglaries, possession of a controlled substance, grand theft of check or order for payment from bank or account, grand theft. She also had misdemeanor charges theft by receiving, possessing or disposing of stolen property, probation violation, failure to appear, drug paraphernalia use or intent to use, possession of burglary tools, two counts of petit theft, two counts of possessing or disposing of stolen property,
