UPDATE:

A small tornado did touch down for a brief time not far from Bridge, Idaho, however it dissipated quickly. The warning has expired by the National Weather service, and no damage or injuries has been reported.

The National Weather Service in Pocatello has issued a tornado warning for Southeastern Cassia County in southeastern Idaho until 3 p.m. MDT.

At 2:33 p.m., a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located 9 miles southeast of Elba, or 12 miles south of Malta, moving east at 30 mph.

This tornadic thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of southeastern Cassia County, including Bridge.

NWS is warning residents to take cover now. Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building, and avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.

Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely.
