Mountain Home Air Force Base identifies Airman found dead

MOUNTAIN HOME, Idaho (KBOI) — The Mountain Home Air Force Base has identified the Airman who was found dead.

The base identified him as 25-year-old 1st Lt. Curtis Berenguer of Novi, Mich.

He graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy in May 2014 and had been in Mountain Home since May of this year.

"This is a tragic event and our hearts go out to his family, friends and coworkers during this difficult time," said Col. Joe Kunkel, 366th Fighter Wing commander.

The cause of Berenguer's death is under investigation.
