BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) — Supporters of the group Protect Idaho Kids brought 183 symbolic coffins to the statehouse steps Monday.
They say that represents the number of children who have died in Idaho since the 1970s because their parents wouldn't seek medical treatment for religious reasons.
Several dozen people braved the cold and windy temperatures to make a march from Julia Davis Park to the Statehouse.
They're asking state lawmakers to remove religious exemptions from Idaho child protection laws that allow parents to choose prayer over medical treatment.
So far this session, no bills regarding faith-healing have been introduced.
