A man who was unwelcome inside a Weiser area home and was later shot by police is currently being treated at St. Alphonsus.
On Monday, Idaho State Police released additional details into what led to the shooting on Saturday.
Troopers say Weiser PD received a call of a man who was unwelcome inside a home on the 1400 block of W. 4th Street. It was then, ISP says, the man pulled out a semiautomatic handgun and pointed it at the officer.
The suspect, who has not been identified, was taken to Weiser Memorial Hospital, but then later transferred to St. Alphonsus.
Troopers say the investigation is expected to take about three to four weeks and it will then be submitted to a prosecutor for review.
