Nampa man killed after train hits semi near Notus

One person has been killed in a semi versus train crash near Notus.

The crash occurred at about 10:10 a.m. near Look Lane. Trooper said the driver of the truck, identified by Idaho State Police as Floyd Gibson, 61, of Nampa, was driving south on Look Lane when he failed to yield at a stop sign.

"The train was carrying quite a bit of weight and traveling at a high rate of speed and was not able to stop and continued after striking the commercial vehicle," ISP said.

ISP says Gibson was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from his truck. He died at the scene.
