Great Polar Bear Challenge at Lucky Peak canceled due to ice, snow concerns

BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — The annual chilly welcoming of a new year at Lucky Peak has been canceled.

Make-A-Wish-Idaho said Friday that the Great Polar Bear Challenge scheduled for Saturday morning has been called off due to "adverse weather conditions and an overabundance of ice and snow at Lucky Peak Marina."

The plunge into the water would have been a chilly one for participants with overnight low temperatures of below zero in the forecast.
