14-year-old boy questioned by deputies after Snapchat video at Eagle Academy
BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) —
A 14-year-old boy will likely be charged after he sent a video on Snapchat saying there had been a shooting at Eagle Academy.
The Ada County Sheriff's office says the boy took video of the assembly while covering the camera lens, but yelling and balloons popping could be heard in the background. He then sent the Snapchat to a friend who was not in attendance and said there had been a shooting at school.
The friend called 911.
Eagle Academy was been placed on lockdown while police were investigating. The boy later sent out a second video saying there was no shooting that had occurred, but it was too late, as the friend had already called dispatchers.
Deputies say no charges have been filed, but they are expected at a later date.
