Eagle BMX track vandalized by off road vehicle
EAGLE, Idaho (CBS 2) —
The Eagle Park BMX track near the Boise Foothills has been targeted by an off-road driver who wanted to go for an ill-advised joyride.
It's left volunteers at the track scratching their heads -- wondering why.
"A very sad day," volunteers wrote on the Eagle BMX Facebook page.
Volunteers believe it was someone driving a 4x4 Jeep.
"This is the second time this year this has happened," Eagle Park volunteers told CBS 2 News. "We believe it was intentional."
In addition to the track being damaged, the joyrider caused damage in the dirt parking lot which will require up to $600 worth of equipment rentals. Several volunteer hours will be required to fix the track.
Eagle BMX says it's looking into adding security cameras and/or a gate to prevent any future vandalism.
Volunteers are asking folks to contact the Eagle Police Department if they ever see any suspicious activity occurring at the track.
