Cloverdale Overpass bridge to be demolished this week, but that means closing I-84
BOISE, Idaho (CBS 2) —
It's time for the Cloverdale Overpass bridge to be demolished.
But that means stretches of Interstate-84 will be closed overnight Monday and Tuesday for crews to safely take it down.
All eastbound lanes and two westbound lanes of Interstate-84 will be closed from 9 p.m. Monday night into Tuesday at 5 a.m. morning and all westbound lanes and two eastbound lanes of I-84 will be closed Tuesday from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. Wednesday.
The closure is from the Flying Wye to Eagle Road. ITD crews anticipate heavy traffic on the detour routes.
It's been almost six months since four people were killed in a fiery crash below the bridge, which caused significant damage.
Detours will have drivers take Franklin and Overland roads.
