Carjacking suspect on the run after punching driver on Boise Bench

A carjacking suspect is on the run from police after he tried to steal a vehicle on the Boise Bench.

Boise Police says a man ran into the middle of the street near Kootenai and Hilton Streets at about 7:43 a.m. forcing a vehicle to stop.

The man then opened the car door and demanded the driver to get out and give him any personal belongings. The driver refused and was then punched several times.

The victim was able to fight off the suspect, causing him to run toward Overland Road through an alley.

The suspect is about 6 feet tall, light skinned, clean shaven with a skinny face and wearing dark clothing. Anyone with information is asked to call 343-COPS.
