NAMPA, Idaho (CBS2) — The Boise Rescue Mission gave over 1,000 people a box of food with a turkey, and toys for their children, at their Christmas Banquet event in Nampa this weekend.
Usually, the Mission hosts a sit-down dinner for registered participants. Due to the pandemic, the Mission hosted a drive-thru at the Rescue Mission Ministry Center and Warehouse for guests to pick up their food boxes.
Bill Roscoe, President, and CEO of Boise Rescue Mission says the Mission and the participants, appreciated the support from the community.
"The reaction from the folks receiving the gifts and the food has been fantastic, as always. They're so grateful and really appreciate all the support the Rescue Mission has from the community to put on an event like this," Roscoe said.
The Boise Rescue Mission is hosting another Christmas Banquet in Boise on Dec. 22. To register for the event click HERE or call 208-343-2389.
Roscoe says the Mission is still looking for toy donations to give to kids in need this Christmas.
"We are going to need support next week to take care of the people on Tuesday, so we're still collecting toys and we would appreciate any help we can get with toys," Roscoe said.
