BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — The city of Boise officially has a new interim police chief.
The Boise Police Department formally swore in Mike Masterson at a ceremony Monday morning. Masterson previously served as the department's chief from 2004-2014, and came out of retirement to step into this temporary role.
Masterson is taking over for former Chief Bill Bones, who retired in October after four years on the job (and 27 years with the department).
The Boise Police Department is conducting a nationwide search for Bones' replacement.
