Boise company offers flights for eclipse viewing

The trip includes a scenic tour from Boise to Midvale.

People will be traveling to Idaho from near and far on August 21st for a glimpse of the solar eclipse.

Authorities predict this will cause a lot of traffic congestion. So, a Boise-based company came up with a way for people to skip right past the crowds.

Aviation Specialties Unlimited (ASU) is offering private charter flights from Boise to Midvale, one of the prime eclipse viewing areas in Idaho.

The company says it’s a great way to save time because by car it’s a 2-hour trip before delays, but by plane it’s a half-hour trip.

So, what’s the catch? It’s costly.

There are two flight options:

  1. The first is an airplane. That costs $900 total and can hold up to 5 passengers.
  2. The second option is a helicopter. That costs a whopping $3800 and can hold up to 3 passengers.

On top of a nice scenic tour, the trip includes a shaded tent, chairs to sit in while you view the eclipse, and ice water.

If you're sold and want to make the trip, you can visit ASU's website or give them a call at 208.426.8117.
