BOGUS BASIN, Idaho (CBS 2) - Given Idaho's fantastic winter ski season and a record-breaking Early Bird season pass sale, Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area has announced plans to replace the Morning Star chairlift (Chair 2).

The mountain's board of directors voted in favor of purchasing a Doppelmayr high-speed detachable quad chairlift for installation this summer, bringing the total number of high-speed detachable quads at the area to four.

The new chairlift will double the carrying capacity and reduce the ride time from 11 minutes... to just over 3 minutes.

The Pioneer beginner trail, located off the Morning Star chairlift, will be widened and re-graded this summer.

Construction on the new chairlift will begin this spring, and is projected to be completed by early December of this year.
