Body of missing 21-year-old found in Lucky Peak Reservoir
A Body was found in Lucky Peak Reservoir Friday and has been confirmed to be the body of missing 21-year-old.
The 21-year-old has been identified as Christian Dale of Boise.
Ada County Sheriff's Department located the body with sonar equipment.
Kuna resident Gene Ralston, who specializes in underwater side-scan sonar searches and often assists law enforcement in recovery efforts, was able to find the body, which was almost 200 feet down by the bottom of the reservoir, early Friday morning. Ralston used a remote-controlled unmanned underwater vehicle to recover the body.
Dale fell off a moving boat on July 29. According to police, it was reported that there were nine other people on the boat when he fell off around 9:00 p.m. They told police that they had been in the water for most of the day and were on their way to the boat ramp at Barclay Bay. They said a hat flew out of the boat near Gooseneck Bay and when the boat driver turned to retrieve it, Dale fell out of the boat as he was sitting on the bow.
The Ada County Coroner's Office will determine the cause and manner of death.
The case is still under investigation. No charges or citations have been issued. The Ada County Sheriff's Office says the other nine people on the boat when Dale fell over have cooperated fully with investigators.
