UPDATE: BLM crews stop progress of brush fire near Lucky Peak
BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) —
Fire crews from the Bureau of Land Management have stopped the progression of a brush fire that broke out near Lucky Peak on Wednesday evening.
As of late Wednesday, fire managers said the Charcoal Fire had burned between 60 and 80 acres.
Firefighters are still on scene Thursday morning watching for hot spots and working to control the fire. At this point, crews expect to stay on scene until sometime Thursday afternoon.
Initially, fire crews had a hard time reaching the fire, as there are no roads to access the area. Air resources were used, and eventually firefighters accessed the fire via boat.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
