BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) — The Boise Police Department is investigating 14 reports of vandalism on the Boise Bench.
Those responsible spray-painted vehicles, street signs, trash cans, trees, and more on both sides of Columbus Street stretching from Targee to Cataldo.
Neighbors were scrubbing pink paint off of their cars and motor homes Tuesday morning. Amy Pence-Brown says they were able to get the spray paint off of their new truck.
The Vista neighborhood's first Free Little Library, which is already pink, is now tagged with another shade of pink paint. Pence-Brown says unlike their truck, it won't be as easy to fix.
She says she isn't angry but definitely has a few things to say to whoever made the mess.
"I always hope that they learned their lesson," Pence Brown said. "If they don't get caught, they feel bad about what they did and maybe think twice about destroying other people's property."
The back and side of Kyle Varnadoe's car was covered in spray paint this morning. Most of it has been removed. He said the rain definitely helped everyone in the neighborhood with the clean up.
"I hope they brag about it man, you know let other people know,"said Varnadoe. "This happened to a bunch of hard-working people around here so it's kind of a bummer."
Police say it is an ongoing investigation and the amount of damage cause is still being determined.
If you have any information about who may have done the vandalism please contact the Boise Police Department.
