Adventure Guide: Fun ways to spend your weekend in the Treasure Valley
BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) —
You can still enjoy Christmas lights from the view of a limo this month. Showcase Limousine will let you enjoy candy, cookies, cider and a crackling fireplace on a television screen as you roll through mapped out routes of the best light displays in town.
If this new year is bringing a new last name for you, The Wedding Party Show can cover your bridal needs. Saturday and Sunday at the Boise Centre you can enjoy a bridal runway fashion show as well as displays from local wedding professionals, to help ensure your big day goes the way you want it to. The show is for couples planning weddings in 2019 and 2020. There will be over 100 exhibitors featured including photographers, DJs, florists, bridal gowns, tuxedos, cakes and more.
A new year also means a new season of sports. Boise State's men's basketball team will play San Diego State at Taco Bell Arena. The Broncos take on the Aztecs Saturday at 8 p.m.
If you're planning on hitting the slopes this weekend, might as well do it for a good cause. Hometown Fun Races and Apres Ski Party at Brundage Mountain will be raising money for the McCall Winter Sports Club. All skiers and riders are invited to participate in teams of three on Saturday to compete in three different race categories. The team with best combined score in each division wins. Additional awards will be given to the most spirited and the best dressed. The event includes music, outdoor fire pits, food and raffles.
Another fun event for the kids, but this one is in Meridian. There is a Pokemon Tournament at the Meridian Library Saturday, recommended for children ages eight and up. Families are welcome to practice their skills, while enjoying provided snacks and refreshments. Limited decks will be available from the library, but players are encouraged to bring their own.
