Olympian teaches Treasure Valley kids to get fit in the classroom

BOISE - Treasure Valley students are learning to get more active, thanks to a new interactive resource and famous Olympian.

Gold Medalist Ashton Eaton showed students in Boise, Nampa and Eagle how to "Go Noodle."

It's a series of interactive desk-side "brain breaks" designed to give students a physical break and improve their brain skills.

Eaton said he realizes with all of the video distractions kids face today, he's more than happy to provide the incentive for kids to get active.

"If it takes our presence to get them excited about something that helps, then realize this is for their health and benefits them - that's good," he said.

Eaton's appearance October 16th at various schools was sponsored by the Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation for Health.

He won the decathlon in London in 2012.
