Comings and Goings: New "Home2 suites" hotel in downtown Boise
If your relatives are coming to town and bringing their pets, they'll soon have a new place to stay in Boise.
Coming to this area of Fifth and Front streets in downtown Boise, a "Home2 suites" hotel with nearly 140 rooms.
The seven-story hotel and garage is targeted to be open by the end of next year. Home2 suites is a pet-friendly, extended stay, all suites chain.
Construction will first begin on the garage sometime this fall.
In Meridian a developer wants to re-zone agricultural land and build on more than 130 acres along the northwest corner of West Chinden Boulevard and North Black Cat Road.
It would be called Fairbourne Subdivision and have 176 homes.
So far, the proposal has been before the planning and zoning commission.
Our partners at the Idaho Press are reporting Star residents are challenging the city's approval of the Willowbrook development.
The proposal calls for re-zoning and developing more than 15,000 acres near Purple Sage and Kingsbury Roads.
Lawyers for the Hillsdale homeowners association want the city to re-consider the proposal.
The Press reports the association believes the land's rezoning and proposed development are invalid because the city's comprehensive plan is incomplete.
