BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) — It's a big day here at KBOI 2News, as we partner with Make-A-Wish Idaho to help grant wishes for Idaho children battling life-threatening medical conditions.
There are about 150 Idaho children diagnosed each year with life-threatening medical conditions. The Wishes in Flight telethon is an annual event that helps raise money to send those children and their families on a dream trip of a lifetime!
This program is extremely important, as more than 90 percent of all Idaho wishes are travel-related. Last year, Make-A-Wish Idaho flew 86 families to different destinations, and KBOI 2News wants to help make that happen again.
Donate your unused airline miles by calling 208-472-2220. Volunteers will be taking phone calls Wednesday, March 21 until 10:30 p.m.
Our air mile partners are United Airlines, Alaska/Horizon and Delta Airlines. To donate miles from Southwest, American Airlines or JetBlue, click here for more information.
When calling to donate, please have this information handy:
Each ticket costs about 50,000 miles, meaning if Make-A-Wish wants to send a family of five on a trip, that adds up to 250,000 miles. Every little bit helps!
Our goal here at KBOI 2News is to raise 2,000,000 airline miles for Make-A-Wish Idaho, a goal we reached in 2017. Let's do it again, and help make the wishes of Idaho children come true!
