Steelheads beat Utah, clinch playoff spot

Idaho defeated Utah 4-1 on Wednesday night to clinch a spot in the ECHL playoffs.

The Idaho Steelheads have existed for 19 years.

On Wednesday night, the team clinched it's 19th-straight postseason appearance.

Joe Basaraba, Jefferson Dahl, Kruise Reddick and Andre Bouvet-Morrissette all tallied goals for Idaho as the first-place Steelheads (36-22-6-3) defeated second-place Utah 4-1. Philippe Desrosiers registered 21 saves in the winning effort.

With the win, Idaho now has three-point lead over the Grizzlies in the Western division.

The Steelheads have five games left in the regular season. The team is at Colorado for a two-game series beginning on Friday.
