Martin ready for leadership role in Tampa

TAMPA, Florida (KBOI) - Former Bronco running back Doug Martin ran for more than 1,400 yards and 11 touchdowns during his rookie season with the Buccaneers.

Had it not been for a couple stellar first-year quarterbacks, we might be calling him the Rookie of the Year, so there's no need to shake up his workout routine.

"I'm just doing the same thing, I'm coming out here and you know just getting better, and helping these guys out. I definitely have to take on a leadership role with these new guys, Mike James coming in as a rookie, and helping them out," said Martin as he laughed about his leadership role after just one season in the NFL.

But the Bucs need Martin to take that next step. He's one of just two running backs who played for Tampa Bay last season, and the only one with an NFL carry.
