Hawks suffer 4th-straight loss

BOISE, Idaho - A fifth inning RBI double by Mike Tauchman broke a 3-3 tie, as the Tri-City Dust Devils handed the Boise Hawks their fourth-straight loss, a 5-3 decision before 2,507 fans at Memorial Stadium.

Michael Benjamin led off the fifth with a walk, with Tauchman following with a line drive just inside the left field foul line, scoring Benjamin with the go-ahead run. Wilfredo Rodriguez plated Tauchman with a sacrifice fly to make it 5-3.

It was enough for the Tri-City bullpen, who tossed three shutout innings - who have now tossed 11-straight shutout innings in the series.

The Dust Devils jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first, getting a two-out, two-run single by Ashley Graeter and an RBI single from Ben Waldrip. The Hawks answered with one swing in the third, as Jacob Rogers blasted a three-run homer to right to tie the game.

Johendi Jiminian tossed six innings of seven-hit ball for his first win of 2013, with Trent Daniel picking up his third save of the season. Benjamin, Tauchman, Graeter, and Sean Dwyer each had two hits for Tri-City.

Rogers went 2-for-4 in the loss for the Hawks, extending his hit streak to a season-high six games.

Game 4 of the series is tomorrow night at 7:15 p.m., with Paul Blackburn meeting Ryan Warner.
