State Soccer round-up: Boise, Centennial, Timberline 1-2-3, BK falls

Boise High boys and girls soccer teams swept the 2013 State Championships Saturday, both with victories over Centennial at Rocky Mountain High School's Brighton Stadium.

In the girls game, Grace Hancock scored on a free kick from about 25 yards away to power the Braves past Centennial 1-0.

The Boise boys scored twice in each half to beat Centennial 4-0 for the state championship. Ben Loveless, Carter Perry and Garrett Hardesty (2) scored in the win.

Timberline swept the third-place games in 5A; the boys beat Borah 1-0, and girls defeated Rocky Mountain 2-0.

The Bishop Kelly girls soccer team lost for the first time in 90 games Saturday, as Sandpoint prevented the Knights a fourth-straight 4A state championship.

Jerome defeated Wood River 3-1 to win the boys 4A state championship.

The boys 3A state championship game came down to penalty kicks: Gooding defeated Weiser 1-1 (4-1 PK) for the title.

McCall-Donnelly's Brook Thomas scored a hat trick, leading the Vandals to a third-straight girls 3A state championship 6-0 over the Community School.
