It's Meridian magic, two teams qualify for Cal Ripken World Series

MERIDIAN, Idaho (KBOI) - No Meridian baseball team has ever made it to the Cal Ripken World Series, but this year they'll send their 12U team to Maryland, and their 10U team to Florida.

The 10U team has dominated the competition en route to an undefeated record against their own age group.
In Florida they'll go up against the toughest teams they've faced all year. but these guys also know it's about more than just the games.

"We want to enjoy the experience, and maybe someday like 2045, we'll remember it, remember every single detail," said first baseman Tommy Whiles.

"Fun is more of a priority now, than it has been in other tournaments. We're gonna have a good time. Ultimately, we told them you're not going to have very much fun if you don't play well, so hopefully we go down there and show 'em what baseball's like in Meridian, Idaho," said team manager Scott Whiles.

Meridian 10U opens play in Ocala, Florida Sunday afternoon against Bear, Delaware. You can follow all the action right here.
