No. 19 Boise State has high hopes with Washington rematch

BOISE, Idaho (AP) - For the Boise State University Broncos and Washington Huskies, 2013's first game is a rematch of last year's Las Vegas Bowl.

But Saturday's contest at Husky Stadium on Seattle's waterfront will present the 19th-ranked Broncos with a far more hostile crowd than greeted them in Sin City last December, when they beat the Huskies 28-26.

BSU players and coach Chris Petersen talked about the renewed matchup Monday at a press conference.

It's a clash of two quarterbacks who at the 2012 season's conclusion were on different trajectories: BSU's Joe Southwick shined, while the Huskies' Keith Price threw critical interceptions, including an errant toss that sealed his team's bowl-game fate.

Washington aims to improve on its seven-win season from last year, while BSU is predicted to be Mountain West Conference champion.
