Beavers and Broncos battle at the Bell with the Axe on the line

BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - Not all rivalry trophies are created equally. Notre Dame and USC fight over a shillelagh, Wyoming and Utah State battle for a boot, but Boise State and Oregon State's animosity centers around an axe.

As Pac-12 conference opponents, the two wrestling teams go head-to-head twice a year and, when you talk to the athletes, these battles for the Border Axe are as important as they come.

"It means everything. Throughout the year it's the most exciting two duals we have throughout the year. Oregon State are our true rivals, nobody else compares to them. Beating them and hanging onto the Axe is the way we want to go, it's one of our goals throughout the year," said senior wrestler J.T. Felix.

Boise State hosts Oregon State in the dual at Taco Bell Arena Friday night at 7 PM (MT).
