A pair of Vandal assistants leave football program

MOSCOW, Idaho - University of Idaho football assistants Mike Anderson and Patrick Libey have left the program to pursue opportunities in the private sector.

Anderson was offered part ownership and is the manager of an start-up company in Lewiston. He said until the offer was presented, he never envisioned leaving coaching.

"It was a difficult decision - especially since I was at my alma mater," said Anderson, who has a bachelor's degree in Marketing and Finance, and a master's degree in Leadership from Idaho. "I was approached by some investors and decided it was a great opportunity within a market that is untapped.

"I want to thank coach (Paul) Petrino for the opportunity and wish him and the Vandals the best of luck."

Libey has decided to pursue other career opportunities and extended his best wishes to Petrino and the Vandals.

"I want to thank the University of Idaho and the football program for everything they have done for me," said Libey, who has a degree in Marketing and Finance from Idaho. "It has been an enjoyable career but it is time now for me to pursue other opportunities."

Libey and his wife, Dawn, have two small children and are expecting a third.
Petrino wished both the best of luck as they pursue new ventures.
