New Mexico's Furstinger suspended, Jessup issued public reprimand after altercation
BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) —
New Mexico basketball player Joe Furstinger has been suspended one game after a scrum ensued at the end of a thrilling Boise State victory Tuesday night.
The Mountain West Conference said Wednesday that Furstinger will be suspended against the team's next game against Air Force on Saturday.
Boise State's Justinian Jessup was issued a public reprimand for his response to the court scuffle.
The conference says several players and team staff members could have been suspended had the incident occurred with time remaining.
Boise State won the game 73-71 and now has a record of 20-4 on the season.
