New England Patriots announce the release of former BSU football star Shea McClellin
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. —
The New England Patriots announced they released football player Shea McClellin who played for Boise State from 2008 to 2011.
After a successful career at Boise State, McClellin was drafted in the first round by the Chicago Bears. When things didn't work out there it was off to the Patriots.
McClellin appeared in 14 regular season games with New England. He had four starts and compiled 39 tackles, one sack, one fumble recovery he returned for a franchise record 69 yards and made two special teams tackles.
McClellin spent the 2017 season on injured reserve.
