There's a whole lot of madness coming to Boise in the coming years.

Boise State said Tuesday that the university will host the first and second rounds of the 2021 NCAA men's basketball tournament. It's also hosting next year's tournament as well.

“We’re excited to have another opportunity to host the NCAA Tournament,” said Curt Apsey, director of athletics. “This community supports the event and our staff does a phenomenal job of putting it on. The NCAA obviously recognizes that by bringing the tournament back to Boise in not only 2018 but now 2021 as well.”

BSU hasn't hosted any tournament games since 2009.

Tickets for the 2018 NCAA Tournament games at Taco Bell Arena are currently on sale to those who held Boise State men’s basketball season tickets each of the past two seasons.

Local fans have been treated to some historic games in the past including in 2001 when 15th seeded Hampton defeated Iowa State in the first round.
