31,000 tickets claimed so far for Virginia, Boise State game on Friday
BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) —
Boise State has another nationally televised game on ESPN Friday against the University of Virginia.
And so far it appears as if more fans plan to attend the game compared to last week's match up against New Mexico (the announced attendance of 28,385 was the second-smallest regular season crowd since the 2006 season opener, the Press-Tribune reports).
Boise State said on Wednesday that about 31,000 tickets are out for the big game, with nearly 4,600 student tickets picked up. Albertsons Stadium currently seats a touch over 36,000 people.
It's the first time the program has hosted a school from the Atlantic Coast Conference during the regular season for the first time in school history. The last time these two teams played was in 2015 in Virginia, with the Broncos coming out on top 56-14.
The game will be aired on ESPN2 at 6 p.m.
