ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- It's official - according to Guinness World Records. Our own Don Alhart now holds the record for longest career as a television news broadcaster.

This week Guinness finally made it official, awarding Don for the longest career as a television news broadcaster with more than 50 years under his belt.

They previously gave the record to a Texas news anchor with a respectable 49 years on-air.

A year later a correction has been officially made, meaning Rochester's own Don Alhart -- now in his 51st year on-air -- brings the world record home.

Don has been not only in the same market, but as the award states, at the same station - a rare feat in local news!
