Young girls cause $15K worth of damage tossing paint in home
KUNA, Idaho (KBOI) -- Three young Kuna girls have learned an expensive lesson after police say they caused thousands of dollars worth of damage at a home under construction.
The Ada County Sheriff's Office says three girls -- ages 10, 12, and 13 threw white and brown paint all over the inside the home on walls, countertops, cabinets, windows ceilings and floors. All told, the girls caused about $15,000 worth of damage to the home located in the Omphale Street/School Avenue neighborhood last month.
Kuna Police used evidence at the home to identify the girls, who later confessed. The sheriff's office says if the girls and their families pay for the damage and complete a diversion program, they won't be charged with malicious injury to property.
If the girls don't follow through, the case can go back to juvenile court.
