Woman was holding on to truck before being run over, police say

MERIDIAN, Idaho (KBOI) -- The 38--year-old woman who was killed after getting run over by a pick up truck last Friday may have been holding onto the driver side door of the vehicle before she was run over, police said Wednesday.

Melinda Croghan, 38, died as a result of the incident on the 300 block of W. Anton Street at about 11:30 p.m. Friday.

When officers arrived on scene, they say they found the driver rendering aid to Croghan in the bed of the pickup truck. The driver, who's related to Croghan, has not been identified because no charges have been filed.

Police did not clarify how the driver and Croghan are related. According to her obituary, Croghan was a mother to six children.

Alcohol is believed to have been a factor.
